Jaipur, Chandigarh freight rates down

Freight rates for nine-tonne pay load section to jaipur and chandigarh dropped by Rs 1,000 at the local truck transport market in the national capital on Thursday following easy position of trucks against slowdown in cargo movements.

Transporters said easy availability of trucks as compared to restricted cargo movements, mainly led to fall in freight rates for select destinations.

Capital to Chandigarh and Jaipur freight rates fell by Rs 1,000 each to Rs 17,000 and Rs 18,000, respectively.

Elsewhere, rates for other centres pegged unchanged.
