A group of students of Jamia Millia Islamia staged a demonstration outside the university today, demanding an apology from the vice-chancellor for allegedly subjecting some students to lathicharge and detention by police during a recent protest.
On June 5, a large number of students had staged a protest against the university for inviting RSS leader Indresh Kumar for an Iftar party organised by the RSS-affiliated Muslim Rashtriya Manch.
Allegedly, six students were detained and many were lathicharged during the protest.
