Several officials of Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC), including its joint commissioner, have been booked for allegedly aiding illegal construction in the city.
The Jammu and Kashmir State Vigilance Organisation (SVO) has filed a case against joint commissioner Babu Ram and other officials for blatant violations of norms to facilitate an illegal construction in Jammu.
According to an SVO official, an investigation found that Ravinder Kumar of Talab Tillo in Jammu was granted permission for construction of a residential building, but he in active connivance with JMC officials raised the height of the building in violation of norms.
Following the investigation, the officials have been booked and further investigations are on into the matter.
