Lokayukta Police today caught red-handed a Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of a janpad panchayat near here for allegedly taking a bribe of Rs 10,000 from a farmer.
The CEO of Shahgarh janpad panchayat in the district, Gaurav Yadav demanded Rs 10,000 bribe for clearing the payment of Rs 50,000 for a well constructed under Kapil Dhara scheme in the farmer, Tattoo Ahirwar's agriculture field, Lokayukta Inspector, A K Agrawal said.
Acting on a tip-off, Lokayukta Police laid a trap and caught Yadav red-handed the moment he accepted the money from Ahirwar at his office, he said.
A case was registered against Yadav under Prevention of Corruption Act and further investigations are on, he said.
