A 27-year-old jawan allegedly committed suicide today by shooting himself with his service rifle in Doda district of Jammu and Kashmir, police said.
Sepoy Sandeep Kumar from Bhiwani area of Haryana shot himself with his service rifle at an Army camp in Thathri belt of Doda district, a police officer said here.
After hearing the gun-shot sound, his colleagues and officers rushed to spot and saw him in a pool of blood. He was shifted to hospital where he died.
A case has been registered in this regard at Bhalla police post and investigation are underway, the officer said.
