JBM Auto today unveiled a fully electric bus 'Ecolife', which has been developed in partnership with European bus maker Solaris Bus & Coach.
Ecolife is a zero emission vehicle (ZEV) powered by lithium batteries and runs 150-200 km in 10-15 hrs of city bus operation.
The vehicle can also run on plug-in charging.
Once in commercial production, Ecolife will be the second indigenous mass public transport product from JBM Group, the company said. The group had introduced Citylife two years back.
"Pollution being an increasingly serious health concern in metropolis, it has become imperative to shift our mass public transport system from fossil fuel to non-fossil fuel. As a socially responsible organisation, we believe that electric bus would be an apt solution we could offer," JBM Group Executive Director Nishant Arya told reporters at the Auto Expo here.
The company is offering two versions of Ecolife bus in 9m and 12m length.
