JD(S) announces candidates for Kerala polls

Three sitting MLAs of JD(S), a minor partner in the CPI-M led LDF opposition in Kerala, find place in the list of five candidates for the May 16 assembly polls announced by the party today.

Sitting MLA from Angamally constituency Jose Thettayil, who was involved in an alleged sex scandal, did not find a place in the list.

In his place, the party has nominated former Angamally Muncipal Chairperson Benny Munjeli.

Other candidates are Mathew T Thomas, party leader in the state assembly (Thiruvalla), C K Nanu (Vadakara), Jameela Prakasam (Kovalam), all sitting MLAs and K Krishnankutty (Chitoor).
