Press Trust of India New Delhi
Jeera prices were down by 1.19 per cent to Rs 14,095 per quintal in futures trading today as participants cut down their bets, driven by a decline in export demand at the spot market.

At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, jeera for delivery in March dropped by Rs 170, or 1.19 per cent to Rs 14,095 per quintal with an open interest of 6,183 lots.

On similar lines, the spice for delivery in far-month April traded lower by Rs 160, or 1.12 per cent to Rs 14,070 per quintal in 5,766 lots.

Market analysts said trimming of positions by traders, triggered by subdued export demand in the spot market against adequate stocks mainly influenced jeera prices at futures trade.
