Jeffrey Morgan joins cast of 'Extant'

'Grey's Anatomy' actor Jeffrey Dean Morgan has has joined the cast of Extant as a new series regular for its upcoming second season.

Morgan, 48, will play J D Richter, a roguish womaniser and

a cop of the future who is a mercenary/bounty hunter, reported Entertainment Weekly.

Ritcher is free-wheeling, hard-drinking and fearless, bordering on reckless, mostly because he's got nothing to lose. He is a man, who thought he had seen everything until Molly Woods (Halle Berry) enters his life.

'Extant' is expected to return in the summer.
