Jeweller shot dead in UP

A jeweller was shot dead allegedly by three bike-borne persons when he resisted a loot attempt in Banthara area, police said here.

Ram Vilas Soni was shot at by the unidentified persons when he resisted a loot attempt while returning home after closing his shop in Harauni market late last evening, they said.

He was taken to a trauma centre where doctors declared him dead.

A case has been registered in this connection and efforts are on to nab the absconding accused, they said.
