Jewellery merchant looted in Bihar

Armed criminals looted Rs 52 lakh from a jewellery merchant travelling in a bus on NH 31 in Bihar's Nawada district, police said today.

The miscreants on a jeep overtook a bus on way to Kolkata from Biharsharif late last night and forced it to stop near Bareb More under Akbarpur Police Station area of Nawada, they said.

They looted Rs 52 lakh carried by jewellery merchant Mohammad Sonu and fled, Akbarpur PS OC Chandan Kumar said.

An FIR has been registered in this connection and a search has been initiated for the criminals, he added.
