JK govt sanctions over Rs 1 cr for 34 militancy hit families

The amount was sanctioned yesterday at a meeting of District Level Coordination Committee chaired by Bandipora DM Manzoor Ahmad Lone, officials said.

Of the total amount, Rs 96 lakh were sanctioned in favour of 24 youths, who got Rs four lakh each, in lieu of government jobs, they said.

While Rs 6.61 lakh was sanctioned for 10 militancy- related cases, Rs one lakh was sanctioned for one death case, Rs four lakh for four missing persons, Rs 85,000 in favour of three injured and Rs 76,500 in favour of two property damage cases.

Last year, the Bandipora district level coordination committee had sanctioned ex-gratia relief of Rs 2.30 crore in favour of 71 militancy-affected families in the district.
