JMM MLA's assembly membership annulled

Mukti Morcha (JMM) MLA Yogendra Prasads assembly membership was annulled with effect from January 31 as a court had sentenced him to three years imprisonment in a coal theft case, an assembly release said today.

Assembly took the decision as the had sentenced to three-years imprisonment on January 31, it said.

The release said under section 8 of the Peoples Representation Act, the membership of the House ceases with immediate effect if the prison term is two years or more than two years.
