John Power to play John Lennon onstage

Rockband Cast frontman John Power is to portray John Lennon in a new musical.

The 'Fine Time hitmaker', a former leader of cult band The La's, will make his theatrical debut in Rob Eaton's musical Lennon at the Royal Court Theatre in his native Liverpool, England, reported Daily Star.

He will portray the older Lennon in the show, which looks back at the tragic Beatle's life, and also narrate the show.

Power went to the same Liverpool school as Lennon.
