JSW Energy Dec quarter profit after tax drops 34 pc

Private power producer JSW Energy today reported an over 34 per cent drop in profit after tax at Rs 203 crore for the third quarter ended December 31.

The company had reported a Profit After Tax of Rs 311 crore in the corresponding quarter of the previous year (2012-13), JSW Energy said in a statement.

Total income from operations of the company stood at Rs 2,151 crore, as against Rs 2,365 crore in the corresponding quarter of the previous year.

JSW Energy produces 3,140 MW of power, with a capacity of another 8,630 MW under implementation, as per information on its website.
 

Its shares closed at Rs 43.80 apiece, down 1.02 per cent on the BSE.
