Joint Collector of Balauda Bazar district was today arrested by state Anti-Corruption Bureau sleuths in a case of alleged corruption during his stint as Sub-Divisional Magistrate of Bilaspur, an ACB official said.
Joint Collector Santosh Devangan, during his stint as SDM of Bilaspur had tried to provide undue benefit to a builder and a coloniser Chitpal Singh Walia allegedly by making changes in the original document, the official said.
A complaint was lodged against him in Public Commission and the matter was referred to General Administration department, which gave its go ahead to arrest him.
He was produced before the court, which sent Devangan to judicial custody till December 19.
