BJP today said the jump in India's ranking in the ease of doing business was because of the "accumulative impact" of Modi government's economic policies and expressed confidence that the country will break into top 50 countries in the coming years.

Party secretary Shrikant Sharma said the increasing ease in doing business in India will lead to more investment and create more employment for youths which, he added, was the main focus of the government.

He also cited an international report in which India's ranking on 'corruption perception' index increased to 85 from 94 to say that the consequences of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's efforts in and outside the country were visible now.

Noting that the BJP-ruled states had done well on a ranking of Indian states by the World Bank on the ease of doing business, Sharma said, the party was working overtime to improve infrastructure and usher in development in those places where it was in power.

BJP spokesperson Gopal Krishna Agarwal said bottlenecks in the IT Act were being removed and the construction of highways was set to zoom to 30 km per day, adding that investment climate in the country will improve more.

"The big jump in the ranking was because of the accumulative impact of the Modi government's policies. It has shown a focused approached and moved positively in all spheres," he told reporters.
