Junior college official booked for sexual assault on teenager

A senior official of a private junior college in Prakasam district of Andhra Pradesh was today booked for allegedly sexually assaulting a teenaged girl student of the institute, police said.

The college is based in Ongole town, about 300km from here.

The 17-year-old girl lodged a complaint with Ongole police alleging repeated sexual assault by the official, Venkateshwarlu, over a period of time.

Based on the complaint, police filed a case against him under relevant sections of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act (POCSO), Circle Inspector I Srinivasan said.

The girl has been sent for medical examination,he said, adding no arrest has been made so far.
