Kanwariya run over by truck,irate pilgrims damaged 5 vehicles

A 'kanwariya' was killed when a truck hit his motorcycle in Mungrabadshahpur area here, triggering protest by fellow pilgrims who went on rampage and damaged five vehicles, police said here today.

The accident took place near Puraupur village late last night.

Agitated over the incident, kanwariyas blocked road and damaged three buses and two trucks, police said.

They also gheraoed the police station and damaged vehicles of sub Divisional magistrate and Additional Superintendent of Police.
