Rapper Kanye West has reportedly turned down the offer to be a judge on 'American Idol' for the upcoming season.
West, 36, who has a two-month-old daughter, is said to have decided not to be a part of the singing talent hunt because he worried it would hurt his reputation, reported Us magazine.
"He didn't want to go that mainstream. He didn't want to lose any street cred. So he turned it down," a source said.
According to the website, the Idol producers also met with three other contenders for the final spot - Will.I.Am, Sean "Diddy" Combs, and Rodney Jerkins.
