Kapas futures gain on spot cues

Press Trust of India  |  New Delhi

Kapas prices went up by Rs 2.50 to Rs 1,200.50 per 20 kilo in the futures trade today as traders created holdings in line with emerging physical markets.

Marketmen said, the uptrend in the spot markets was due to gearing up in demand for fibre unit and textile industries along with shortage of stock on halt in supplies.

At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, kapas delivery for April gained by Rs 2.50, or 0.21 per cent, to Rs 1,200.50 per 20 kg, in a business turnover of 2,693 open lots.
