DMK president M Karunanidhi and MDMK founder Vaiko today expressed grief over the death of veteran film director K S Gopalakrishnan.
Karunanidhi hailed Gopalakrishnan's many facets - that of director, dialogue writer, scriptwriter and a producer, and recalled the latter's "love and affection" towards him.
"Whenever he met me, he used to affectionately ask about my health and the well-being of my family members," he said in a statement.

The DMK chief conveyed his condolences to the bereaved family members and friends of Gopalakrishnan.
Vaiko recalled that Gopalakrishnan had made the critically accliamed 'Saradha,' focussing on the sacrifices made by a couple, besides going on to make 70 films.
He expressed his sympathy to the family of the deceased.
Gopalakrishnan died here last night following illness.
