Police today foiled a kidnap bid on a boy and arrested his two alleged abductors after a brief chase from Rohini area here.

According to police, the boy was allegedly kidnapped and was being taken in a car. Soon, the Central Control Room flashed a message to all PCR vans and police stations.

After receiving the information, a PCR van spotted the car near Rohini Sector 3 and tried to stop it, but they sped off and managed to escape.

Cops in the PCR van immediately alerted other PCR vehicles in the area that the car was moving in the direction of post office of Rohini Sector 7 and kept chasing it.

Meanwhile, another PCR van barricaded the road and started checking on Rohini Sector 7 stretch. Seeing police checking, occupants of the car stopped the vehicle and tried to flee but were overpowered by the police team.

"Those arrested were identified as Joginder Kumar and Pramod Kumar. The boy was successfully rescued and was handed over to his parents. We have also seized the vehicle used for kidnapping," Additional Commissioner of Police (Operations) Ranveer Singh said.

The entire operation was coordinated by sub-inspector Ishwar Singh, by mobilising PCR van patrolling in Rohini.

An FIR was registered at North Rohini police station under section 363 (Punishment for kidnapping) and further investigations are underway, said the police.
