Kidnapped realtor rescued, 4 arrested

Police today rescued a 50-year-old property dealer, who was kidnapped at gunpoint yesterday morning when he had left his house in a motorcycle here, and arrested four kidnappers.

The realtor, Mohinder Gambhir, was kidnapped from near his house when he left for work yesterday.

Jalandhar Police Commissioner Arpit Shukla said four persons -- Gurpreet Singh, Lalit Kumar, Gurdev Singh and Raman Kumar -- have been arrested in connection with the kidnapping and two of their associates -- Vikas Jolly and Gurminder Singh -- managed to give police the slip.

The police recovered two .32 revolvers and 12 live cartridges from their possession.
