killer jawan arrested

Rifles (TSR) who shot dead his wife and four in-laws after they objected to his illegal second marriage was arrested at Nightingalepara in Dhalai district, the police said today.

The police said, Bijoy Reang, the jawan was arrested from Nightingalepara, a remote tribal hamlet, last night.

Escaped from at Lalcheraa camp with an AK-47 rifle and went to the house of his father-in-law at Kutibasi Tripura and shot him dead at about 10 pm and then killed his wife Fuli Tripura and three other members of the family on Friday.

The police said, a departmental inquiry has been initiated against him following complaints by his wife and father-in-law against his second marriage before their killing. PTI JOY AMD
