Six personnel of a police station, where a 30-year old man was shot dead allegedly by a sub-inspector in self-defence, were transferred as the body of the victim was buried after a peaceful funeral today.

Amid widespread condemnation of the killing of Syed Mohammed, District Superintendent of Police N M Mayil Vahanan transferred a sub-inspector, three head constables and two Youth Brigade personnel of S P Pattinam station to the Armed Police wing, the police said.

Mohammed's body was buried this evening after a peaceful funeral in which local MLA M H Jawahirullah was among the participants.
