Kim Richards checks into rehab

"The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills" star Kim Richards has checked into a Malibu rehab facility.

The facility specialises in substance abuse and she will stay there as long as it takes, reported TMZ.

The decision was made after discussing the next step with her family.

The news comes nine days after the TV personality, 50, was arrested for allegedly kicking a police officer in the leg while intoxicated at the Beverly Hills Hotel.

She was booked and charged with trespassing, resisting arrest, public intoxication, and battery.

Richards, who has chronicled her addiction struggles on her show, received an outpouring of support from other Bravo stars after the incident.
