Kolkata to have its first book-cafe joint a la Paris

Recreating the lounge effect in the book store, eastern region's first ever book-cafe has come up in the 'city of joy.'
Touted as the bibliophile's paradise, the cafe will enable leisurely read, musings, sip and gossip, Sidharth Pansari, Chief of STORY Sidharth Pansari said tonight.
"This is the first-of-its-kind cafe in the city with the coolest collection of graphic novels, comic books and a well-stocked Penguin books section and board games. Our Durga puja gift. What's more, there are writing pads and sketch pads and pencils, for one to pen down their thoughts or doodle on.

"Cafe STORY is a unique association with Penguin where booklovers will have access to over 3000 titles as a light read over coffee," Pansari said.
"We aim to make it a destination where people will meet to write stories, read stories, tell stories and even paint stories," he said.
Penguin will work and provide un-released proof copies of books apart from rare editions from time to time to the book-coffee outlet, a spokesman said.
