KP commissioner files defamation case against BJP natl sec

Kolkata Police commissioner Rajeev Kumar has filed a criminal defamation case against BJP National Secretary Kailash Vijayvargiya at the city sessions court.

Vijayvargiya had on January 4 said he would ask CBI to initiate an investigation into Kumar's alleged role in destroying evidence in the Saradha scam purportedly to shield Trinamool Congress leaders.

The case by Kumar was filed yesterday at the city sessions court, which directed Vijayvargiya to appear before it on March 7.
