KPLT militant killed in encounter

A Karbi Peoples' Liberation Tiger (KPLT) militant was killed in an encounter with security forces in Assam's Karbi Anglong district, police sources said today.

The encounter took place between the militants and troops of 2 Dogra Regiment at Sidinggaon under Anjukpani police station in the district late last night.

Two 9 mm pistols, five rounds of ammunition, an empty cartridge of a 9 mm pistol and a grenade were seized.

The area was being combed.
