A labourer was killed and at least 11 others were injured in a boiler explosion at a private thermal power plant in Chhattisgarh's Korba district today.
The mishap took place at the plant of Maruti Clean Coal and Power in Bandhakhar village under Deepka police station limits this evening, station-house officer A Kujur said.
"A labourer died on the spot, while 11 others were injured, three of them critically," the SHO said.
The plant management rushed the injured to a local hospital and eight of them were shifted to Apollo Hospital, Bilaspur for further treatment, he added.
"The cause of the blast is being ascertained and the power station premises have been cordoned off as precautionary measure," said the police officer.
