Labourer dies in mishap

A labourer died and another suffered injuries after loose soil fell on them when a base slab was being placed during the construction of a road under-bridge near Ferozeguda here today, South Central Railway (SCR) said.

The two had been hired by a private contractor.

Crane hit the slab which caused the soil to fall, a release from the SCR said. While one of the labourers died on the way to hospital, the other was undergoing treatment.
