Lankan woman held on charge of smuggling gold

A 33-year-old Sri Lankan woman has been arrested for allegedly smuggling gold worth Rs 55 lakh, airport officials said today.

Juwairiya was found concealing two kg of gold ornaments in her dress by Air Intelligence Unit of the Customs department here late last night, they alleged.

She had arrived from Dubai, the officials added.
