A large quantity of explosives including detonators were recovered from the Kochang jungle in the Maoist-hit Khunti district of Jharkhand, police said today.
Security personnel comprising CRPF and District Armed Force stumbled upon the explosives weighing 140 kgs including detonators during combing operation yesterday, Sub-Divisional Police Officer Deepak Kumar Sharma said today.
The operation was launched in view of a bandh called by the Maoists protesting recent arrest of a leader of the rebels.
Sharma said the security personnel also recovered 15 pieces of boosters.
