Laurence Fishburne joining 'Passengers'

"Man of Steel" actor Laurence Fishburne is in talks to join Jennifer Lawrence and Chris Pratt for the big-budget romantic sci-fi drama "Passengers".

To be helmed by "The Imitation Game" filmmaker Morten Tyldum, the Sony project is set on a spacecraft transporting thousands of people to a distant planet, said The Hollywood Reporter.

The high-profile project is penned by Jon Spaihts while Stephen Hamel, Michael Maher, Ori Marmur and Neal H Moritz are producing.

Michael Sheen will also be seen playing a pivotal role.

As of now, the release date for the film as set by Sony is December 21, 2016.
