The Nadia district police today detained two persons after a law student was shot to death last night.
The police said the detained are the victim 23-year-old Moumita Biswas' husband Nikhil Sen and her friend Basudeb Das alias Surajit.
A divorce case was going on between Moumita and Nikhil Sen and Moumita stayed with her father Biman Biswas, who is an ASI at Khardaha police station at Patulia Milannagar in the North 24-Parganas district.
Moumita was a first year student of S K Acharjee Institute of Law in Kalyani.
SDPO, Kalyani, Kaustavdipta Acharjee said, "Prima facia it was a fallout of her love affairs with several boys. She had an extra marital affair too with a number of people and spent a reckless life.
