Judicial work came to a standstill in several districts of western Uttar Pradesh as the lawyers began an eight day strike demanding setting up of a bench of Allahabad High Court in western part of the state.
The lawyers of the western districts of the state have long been demanding setting up of a bench of the high court in any of the districts in the region for the convenience of the litigants, Rohitash Aggarwal, president of an action committee of the state high court, said.
"We will be on a strike till February 26," Moradabad Bar Association president, Bublee Sinha, said.
