Laxmi Ratan Shukla was today named Bengal skipper for the four-team SK Acharya Challenger invitational meet starting next Sunday.
Shukla, 33, who has represented India in three ODIs between March-September 1999, has not played for the national team since but has been a regular with the Bengal Ranji team.
Mumbai and Bangladesh A are also taking part in the one-day tournament to be held at the Jadavpur University's Salt Lake campus ground.
