However, the display facility is available for unreserved tickets only. "We will extend it to the reserved tickets also in future," said Delhi Divisional Manager A K Sachan.
"The screen will display the details including name, date of journey, number of tickets purchased, destination and fare in Hindi and English. If the passenger finds any mistake on the screen, then it can be pointed out before getting the ticket from the counter," he said.
Called Dual Display Infotainment System, Northern Railway has installed LCD screens at 180 counters in stations including New Delhi, Nizamuddin and Old Delhi.
LCD screens have been installed at ticket booking counters which are integrated with the booking system developed by CRIS. The bottom of the screen displays real-time ticketing information like date of journey, number of tickets and destination.
