Lead prices edged higher by 0.24 per cent to Rs 125.40 per kg in futures trade today after traders enlarged their positions amid pick up in demand at domestic spot markets.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, lead for delivery in July rose by 30 paise or 0.24 per cent to Rs 125.40 per kg in a business turnover of 916 lots.

The metal for delivery in August edged up by 15 paise or 0.12 per cent to Rs 126.15 per kg in 25 lots.

Market analysts said uptick in demand from battery-makers in the domestic spot markets kept lead prices higher in futures trade.
