Press Trust of India New Delhi
Amid sluggish domestic demand and weak global cues, lead prices softened 0.21 per cent to Rs 166.40 per kg in futures trade today.

At Multi Commodity Exchange, lead for delivery in February moved down by 35 paise, or 0.21 per cent, to Rs 166.40 per kg in a business turnover of 1,543 lots.

Likewise, the metal for delivery in March contracts shed 25 paise, or 0.15 per cent, to Rs 166.90 per kg in 95 lots.

Analysts said besides sluggish demand from battery makers in the spot market, a weak trend in base metals overseas, led to the fall in lead futures.
