Lead futures fall on subdued domestic demand

Press Trust of India New Delhi
Lead prices fell by 0.48 per cent to Rs 113.65 per kg today after participants reduced exposures amid a weak trend at domestic spot markets due to subdued demand even as the metal strengthened overseas.

At the Multi Commodity exchange, lead for delivery in March shed 55 paise, or 0.48 per cent, to Rs 113.65 per kg in a business turnover of 328 lots.

The metal for March delivery also rose by a similar margin to Rs 114.45 per kg in 22 lots.

Analysts said subdued demand from battery-makers in the domestic spot market mainly put pressure on lead futures here but the metal's strength at the LME, restricted losses here.
