Lead prices declined by 0.53 per cent to Rs 121.80 per kg in futures trade today as speculators trimmed positions, tracking a weak trend overseas.

At the Multi Commodity exchange, lead for delivery in November contracts declined by 0.65 paise, or 0.53 per cent to Rs 121.80 per kg in business turnover of 577 lots.

Likewise, the metal for delivery in December contract shed 60 paise, or 0.49 per cent to Rs 123.00 per kg in 11 lots.

The exchange opened for the evening session as it remained closed in the morning for 'Guru Nanak Jayanti'.

Analysts said offloading of positions by speculators was largely in tune with a weakening trend in select base metals in global markets. This mainly led to the decline in lead prices at futures trade, they added.
