Lead rises 0.36% in futures trade on spot demand, global cues

Lead prices edged up by 0.36 per cent to Rs 139.45 per kg in futures trade Friday as traders enlarged bets amid firm demand at the domestic spot markets and positive overseas cues.
Lead to be delivered this month was trading higher by 50 paise, or 0.36 per cent Rs 139.45 per kg at the Multi Commodity Exchange. It clocked a business volume of 417 lots.
The rise in lead prices at futures trade was mostly supported by rising demand from battery makers at the domestic spot markets and a firm trend in base metals overseas, analysts said.
