'Legally Blonde 3' is officially happening, confirms Reese Witherspoon

Actor Reese Witherspoon has confirmed that she will be reprising her role of idealistic Elle Woods in "Legally Blonde 3".

The actor took to Twitter and shared a video of herself clad in a pink bikini, floating in a pool in a nod to a scene in the film.

"It's true," Witherspoon captioned the video.

Witherspoon, 42, last played the character in 2003's "Legally Blonde 2: Red, White & Blonde".

After the actor's tweet, MGM Studios announced that the third part will release on Valentine's Day in 2020.

"Back in Pink in 2020! #LegallyBlonde3," read a tweet from the studio's official Twitter handle.

Witherspoon's production company Hello Sunshine is also expected to produce the film.
