Leo Coffee, a Tamil Nadu-Based filter coffee major, today forayed into instant coffee segment by launching three variants.

"Leo Ultimate is 100 per cent pure coffee while Leo Aroma Classic is a blend of 70 per cent coffee and 30 per cent chicory and Leo Instant super Strong is a blend of 60 per cent coffee and 40 per cent chicory," Leo Coffee Managing Director, Venu Srinivasan told reporters here.

These products come in 50 gram and 100 gram jars and also available in specially designed three-layered aluminium foil pack to retain flavour and aroma, he said.

Stating that the products would be launched in Madurai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad and Chennai soon, Venu said the company plans to open 300 more 'Shop in Shops,' where fresh coffee beans will be ground and given to customers, along with packaged coffee.

At present, there are 200 'shop in shops' across South.

With 60 per cent market for instant coffee across India, the company wants to capture a major market share in the coming year and is expected to do a business of Rs 10 crore to Rs 15 crore in the first year of launch, particularly targeting North Indian market, he said.
