Leopardess cub found dead

A leopardess cub was found

dead in a field in Katarniaghat Wildlife Sanctuary here this morning, a forest department official said.

The cub, about one-month-old, was found in the field in Chafariya village under Nishagadha range of the sanctuary, the official said.

Its body has been sent for postmortem examination and the cause of death would be known only after receiving a report, he said.

As there is no visible injury mark on the body, cold and hunger as reasons for death cannot be ruled out, he said.
