LG administers anti-terror pledge

Delhi's Lt Governor Najeeb Jung today administered a pledge to Delhi government officers on the occasion of observation of anti-terrorsm day to mark the death anniversary of assassinated Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi.

Chief Secretary S K Srivastava, Principal Secretaries, heads of departments and a number of other senior officials took the pledge.

The day is observed to generate awareness in the country among all sections of the people about the danger of the terrorism and violence and its effect on the people, society and the country as a whole.

It was on this day in 1991 that Rajiv Gandhi was killed in a terror attack at Sriperambdur in Tamil Nadu.
 

Anti-terrorism or anti-violence pledge is taken in all government offices, public sector undertakings and other public institutions.
