Seeking to provide some succour to its customers hit by the recent rain fury, electronics major LG Electronics today launched a free service camp to repair its appliances damaged in the deluge earlier this month.

"LG Electronics is starting a free service camp with immediate effect. The company will not charge for its services. However, for any parts that need replacement, it would offer a 50 per cent discount," the company said in a statement here.

"The damage and destruction is huge and we want to help people get back to normal life as soon as they can. We are starting this initiative to provide some relief to them," LG Electronics, Head-Customer Service, Vinod Kumar said.

Several parts of the city and suburbs were inundated and thousands people lost their belongings, including household appliances due to heavy rains and subsequent flooding.
