Life prisoner commits suicide in jail

A 46-year-old life convict today allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself in his cell in the Central Jail here.

Babu, who hailed from nearby Pollachi, was convicted and sentenced to undergo life imprisonment in a murder case in 2011.

He was found hanging dead from the ceiling fan of the cell, jail sources said.
